Dave – have you any pictures of Matthews transport of Bromyard ■■ They ran Atkinson Borderers, ERF LVs etc ■■ Dark green and cream cabs.
Hi Dave and Hammer,
Thanks for the info, Im suprised that I have never seen any other pics of the Williams lorries as they sound like they have an interesting and well turned out fleet.
I didnt like them at first, but Im warming to the new MAN eight wheelers.
Dave, some more pics from Gore would be good.
I will post some tipper pics, but it will be toward the end of the year, hope you dont mind a few from East Anglia!
Do Hobson Haulage come from out your way? seem to remember they had at least 2 DAF 85CF eight wheelers with the big Spacecab. I think they mainly did asphalt with them.
Cheers
Mark

Hi Steve,

Cheers Dave.

Hi Mark,
Haven’t seen Hobson Haulage, not from this area,we get artics from all over the UK,baclkoading out of these quarries. Will have a look on Vosa website and see where Hobson’s are from.
Look forward to seeing your pics later in the year.
Cheers Dave.
PS. Just had a look, there is one at Mold North Wales. Hammer would be your man,to say if they run the DAF’s you’ve seen.
Saw this ERF eight wheeler bulker,on the A49 near the Squirrel Pub on Ludlow bypass.the other week.

Hobson sold both the spacecabs a while ago. Now has one Scania 8x4 with a big cab but it doesn’t move much (I go past their yard regularly). I think he might have an artic unit but not sure. Big DAF’s have definatly gone though.
This old ERF four wheeler, parked in the yard of R A Owen & Sons, of Llandinam, between Newtown and Llanidloes on the A470,has been mentioned a few times on this thread. This pic was taken this afternoon. We only saw one other lorry there, plus a few trailers.I would think the others were parked inside.
This was the other lorry we saw at R A Owen’s yard,a smart Scania artic. The firm sell animal feeds and coal, they also run two or three more lorries delivering bulk feed,or bagged feed in Mid Wales.
Hi Dave
The old ERF don’t look bad well worth doing up.
cheers
John.

Hi John,
Its been parked like that for a few years, with the tipper body slightly raised, they must have just stopped using it and parked it up.Should have had a ride out on a saturday, may have been someone around to ask.
Cheers Dave.
Found this interesting Merc, parked on the back of a lowloader trailer,in a Mid Wales yard. Looks like its led a different life to most trucks, with that stack coming up from the front.
