This is either a South Wales,or a Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, tarmac artic loading at the Gore Quarry. There are currently a lot of artics from both places working out of the Gore and Dolyhir/Strinds Qarries.

This pic is taken outside C M Philpotts yard and garage at Headbrook Kington. In the picture are two of Llanelly Steel Co drivers Peter Lloyd on the left and Andrew Stokes who lent me this pic on the right. Andrew and Ken Morgan double shifted this Mercedes between the Midlands and South Wales.Peter double shifted a Guy big J artic with another driver Ken Thomas.A fifth driver John Gwilliam drove a Guy Warrior artic. These lorries were based at Kington,as the drivers were all from that area. Andrew,Peter and John Gwilliam are still driving lorries in their mid sixties.
