Hi Hammer,
Came through Pant near Oswestry last night (monday )on the way back from Anglesey.

Dave, we’re talking Pant’s (as usual) but I was thinking of the one near Holywell rather than the Oswestry one! Are you on a tipper too?

Hi Hammer,
Not on lorries for a lot of years, just work part-time as a freelance CPC holder. Was a tipper driver, until a bad accident.Still very much involved with the tipper scene, most of my mates either run tippers or drive them. I live right by the Gore,Strinds and Dolyhir quarries.
Cheers Dave.

Trucking Trev. Owner driver Trevor Williams, with his Volvo FM six wheeler,on the A44 Kington bypass.

Clive Price and son Russell, run their fleet of bulk tippers, from Llanigon near Hay on Wye which is not that far from me. Had to come 60 miles to get this one,on the off chance, parked at Gledrid services, near Oswestry.

One hard worked Scania 143,still earning her keep. Seen on the A5, at Shottaton cross roads, near Oswestry.

One very hard worked ERF,seen shunting at Knighton this afternoon.

Another pic of the weary moter, at work in Knighton. This pic is right on the Welsh Border, the yard is in Wales, the Hills behind in Shropshire England.

That ERF only wants some mudguards and flasher lenses and it would be a road runner Dave.
Smoke might be a problem though.

Pictured in Hedley Simcock’s yard at Kington. This Bedford KM bulk tipper, was bought new by Hereford corn and animal feed merchant Griffiths & Hartland Ltd.

Another pic of the old Griffiths & Hartland, Bedford KM in Hedley’s yard

Another old classic found in Hedley Simcock’s yard. This ERF six wheeler was bought new in 1968 by J &P Turner of Kington, another animal feed company, who are still trading. This was one of three ERF’s bought at the time, this one had fold down sides and was used as a bulk tipper or a flatbedand was driven by Ron Goodall. The other six wheeler was a fixed side bulk tipper. The third was a 32 ton ERF artic with a 40 foot flat trailer used to fetch bagged animal feed from the docks.

This Dodge four wheeler tipper, was bought new by A E Gough & Sons of Llandrindod Wells. This lorry worked out of the Gore Quarry when Gough,s ran it and was driven from new by Terry Hicks,a long serving driver with A E Gough, who has now retired. Hedley Simcock then ran it on his skip business.
