Did Carline become part of Stillers? IIRC they had a depot in Sheffield,wasn’t it an amalgamation of Blue Line Transport,Tonddu and Cardiff Transport?

It was Blueline and Cardiff transport,don’t know if Tonddu were involved. Not sure if Carline are running many trucks now,a mate of mine who drove for them was laid off a couple of years ago.

dave u will have seen it a lot as he is pulling timber out of south wales . was based at llunclys crosroads few years back. think they had tracy evans on doors back then.thought u would have got a pic of one of mine as pulling potatoes out of ludlow at min.

What do you drive. I live about 23 miles from Ludlow,but do travel the A49 quite a bit,usually in a silver sprinter,or sometimes in an old red transit with renegade in the windscreen,and a CB twig on top…

Now I know what to look for,have seen your lorries,as you say did get a pic of one. We aren’t always ready with the camera when we meet a lorry,sod’s law when we see a nice moter or an old one the camera is in its case,or my other half hasn’t got it set right.

Here’s another from your neck of the woods mjt. A few artics lined up at the Lazy Kettle Truckstop,Gledrid services, A483/A5.
Another Daf eight legger, in Tarmac colours,seen if memory serves me right, on the A49 near Church Stretton.
One of Keith Miles mixers loading under the batching plant at the Strinds quarry. Keith runs about eight mixers,he used to run tippers as well,but packed them in.
Seen on the A44 Kington bypass today. Dave Morris from Pembridge in his H reg Leyland Constructor. Dave used to run half a dozen Leylands mainly out of Johnstone’s Leinhall Quarry,now he just runs this one,although he still has some more in his yard.
One of Ivor Duggan’s Foden six wheelers,weighing out at the Strinds Quarry this afternoon,loaded with lime.
