Hi Marc,
Yes it was one of A E Gough’s old moters. I know a lot of Skyrmes old drivers, they packed up about 12 years ago, maybe more, they had Volvo FL10’s along with a few others when they finished. There were three brothers drove for them for years George,Len and Richard Davies from Bromyard, also a few others.Skyrmes old garage at Three Gates utside of Bromyard has now gone the way of many others, demolished with houses on the site.
Cheers Dave.
A couple of plant lorries parked at the Lazy Trout last week.

Hi John,
Usually stop there about once a fortnight, took the pics the last time we were there, only post one now and again. I try to mix them up a bit with others Ive got. Will have to get some more old one’s,as these should be on the photo forum, but I like being on this one. Will have to contact a few of the old hauliers and see if they will lend me some to scan.
Cheers Dave.

Just wanted to say what a great thread you have here. Tippers are close to my heart and old ones are just the best! I’ve been following most threads for a while now and took the plunge and joined up!!
Excellent pics from you and, please, keep up the good work.
Regards Paul

Hi Paul,
Glad to have you aboard,if you have any tipper pics post them on the thread. Bristol is just over the border from Wales,so you are in the right area. Used to go to Avonmouth a lot. Was in the Avon Lodge last week for a breakfast, but didn’t have a camera with me.
Cheers Dave.
Hi Dave
I’m afraid I didn’t travel with a camera very much at all, much to my regret now! Hindsight is a wonderful thing!!
I do have a few photo’s kicking about somewhere, I will see if I can dig them out and then spend a few hours swearing at the pc trying to load them on here!
I spent 16 or 17 years charging around from the local quarries over here, mostly working the M4 corridor with the occasional jaunt into a foreign country…over the old bridge, of course
For my sins, I now work within the quarry but, like all of us I guess, still have diesel in my veins. I don’t miss the driving, it’s just a complete rat-race now but I still admire a clean and tidy wagon with a little jealousy at times!
Regards Paul
Hi Paul,
I was the same never carried a camera, thats why all my pics are recent, all the old stuff on this thread has been lent to me by old workmates and hauliers that I know. Hopefully will have some more old pics to post shortly, have asked a few and they are hunting them out for me.Its the same thing with a lot of them they never had pics of their lorries, but no worry,we will keep it going as long as possible.
Cheers Dave.
