That would be great if you can get any pics of the old Dodges
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
Will get you some pics, their mechanics said about the Dodge’s still being there, when we took some pics in the yard a few months ago. But they were behind some marquees they had erected for their centenery celebrations and a show of all their tenting stuff. It will be a couple of weeks, but will have another go.
Cheers Dave.
Really loved readin through this thread, nice to see all the wagons from days gone passed, and nice to see mine pop up too
I’ve been gathering together as many of the old Doug Dawe trucks i can find, so first chance I get i’ll pop em on here too if thats ok.
Cheers
Tom
Hi Tom,
Thanks for doing that. I worked with Doug out of the Gore in the late sixties till 71, he had an AEC eight wheeler, he used to do two loads a day to Moreton Valance airfield. They had a mobile tar plant there, the stretch of the M5 from Bristol to Tewkesbury was being built. Fred Brace had two eight wheelers in the Gore also, most of the rest were four or six wheelers.
Cheers Dave.

TIPIT:
This is the only one I’ve got of Roland Young’s
Another that’s not a tipper for your thread Dave, but realy nice to look at and not over done.
Thanks TIPIT,
Good to see both of them, haven’t got any of Huw Thomas, although he is from the same county, always used to run four wheeler tractor units, but notice, he now has some six wheeler units. Roland Young moters always look smart.
Cheers Dave.
Hi TIPIT,
Brilliant, seen a Scania artic coming out of the Gore, also some others, but I suppose they run quite a few. I know they had quite a few lorries at one time, judging by how many Ive seen around in the past. Thanks for posting them, as you know the thread started with tippers, but any lorry is ok. I find them all interesting.
Cheers Dave.
With apologies to the Cornish thread. We were on holiday in Cornwall last week, couldn’t resist a few pics on the way home, this nice MAN four wheeler was spotted near Westward Ho, just into Devon.
Came up to Padstow yesterday morning, stopped for breakfast, this Iveco was one of about four tippers hauling sand from the Harbour, they weren’t taking it far, they soon came back to load again.
Saw this Scania wagon and drag tipper combination, in Hanson colours, on the A39, can’t remember exactly where. Seems to be a few running these down in the southwest.

Hi Dave that photo was taken just north of Kilkhampton on the A39, the lorry is operated by M.J Smale & Sons of Braunton. There are two identical Scania drawbars in Hanson colours the other operated buy W.E Johns.

Hi Big Bear,
We stopped at Padstow then Bude and then went on to Westward Ho, coming back from our holiday, then on to Ilfracombe, then Combe Martin, before heading back to the M5. My good Lady got a few pics here and there, always good to see some different trucks.
Cheers Dave.
Went past this operators yard a couple of times, going down to Looe. Seemed to have several lorries parked up,unless they are on nightwork, hauling tarmac like some of the local lorries this way. Look a smart fleet,so we took a couple of pics.
