Last pic of Clive Bowen’s Roadtrain, this used to be Pembridge railway station, bet they never had a train on its side.
Brinley Bowen drove a Dodge Kew like this one for Cliff Stead back in the sixties on lime and slag. The late Cliff Stead is a bit of a legend in these parts, with the capers with lorries and tractors, he did on steep hillsides, he had no fear, some of his son’s follow in his foot steps.
AEC Mandator taken at the Great Dorset Steam Fair. Brinley Bowen with his back to the camera.
Another pic of the Mandator out of Brinley’s collection.
Two things that Brinley Bowen likes, are seen on this pic, one of his ERF’s, also one of his Jack Russell Terriers, he still has two little dogs.
Brinley said this photo was to dark, but Ive stuck it on, he was running several trucks a few years ago.

You could well be right Dave, Brinley sade he thought a lot were possibly taken at the Dorset show. I have quite a few to post on here off him, he told me about several of them, half of which I will probably get wrong when I post them, but not to worry. When are you going to get another thread going, you have a better knowledge of the classic truck scene than most.
Cheers Dave.
Brinley Bowens son Stephen, who is now a truck driver himself, pictured at a show with this T45 Roadtrain.
Hi,Dave can you tell me if this ERF is from the welsh borders…apologies if its not.
Cheers Bubbs.

Hi Marc,
Yes you are right, the ERF belonged to Dennis Williams of Wigmore, Herefordshire who ran about ten bulk tippers, he packed up about eight years ago, but still has an operators licence, did a bit with car transporting after, not sure if they have any trucks left now. Wigmore is on the borders, he used to haul bulk chippings and dust from the quarries and backloaded grain or whatever. Keep em coming. I looked at your scrapbook thread right through last night, you have quite a few Herefordshire lorries among them, keep it up, a great thread.
Cheers Dave.
Dave, why dont you lift the cuttings off the scrapbook and stick 'em on here…give them a 2nd chance
Bubbs.
Thanks for that Marc, will do if I see one that is from this region.
Cheers Dave.
Another out of Brinley Bowens collection, following on from Bubblemans llast pic here’s a Scotish ERF.
Another view of this ERF fron Turiff in Aberdeenshire, found in Brinley Bowen’s collection. Anyone know which Port these last two pics were taken.
Some of the Welsh Border operators trucks, lined up in the fuel protests, in the nineties.
Some more of the trucks pictured, near the refinery.
Another line up of moters, just shows the feeling of the hauliers over the fuel prices, now its even dearer.
Once again we have a pic from the fuel protests of the nineties, not sure who are in this line up, but some of you will recognise the trucks.
G’day Dave,
I found this welsh motor that you may reognise mate, taken in Hereford in 1984. Check out the cars ,an Austin all agro and a Marina coupe, nice.
And another photo of the ARC Beaver from Builth quarry, taken in 1984
