Jean Sharples has lent me some more of her pictures. D reg Foden eight wheeler tipper taken in their yard in August 1987, this lorry was nearly 22 years old then.

One of Sharples white eight leggers again. I underestimated the number they ran at their peak, they ran twenty five lorries at one time through the 50’s to the 70’s and not twenty as I previously stated. Twenty on Steel and other haulage, and five or so tippers.

R & B from Llanwrrthwl used to have tippers alonside their long distance fleet. Rhayader quarry, mothballed in the eighties,is just up the road from their base.
