Hi Ianto,
Just cheated and googled T.E Jones and it seems it morphed in to Greyhound Plant Hire, after they auctioned the trucks and coaches off.
Hi Pete i think it was TE Jones from Knocking i seem to remember when i was traveling up through Mid Wales and i think i remember seeing an advert in the trade mag for an auction of the vehicles

If you came through Nesscliffe heading towards Oswestry on old A5, on the right hand side was a garage there was a transport company at rear of that but I think Jones’s yard was on the Knockin Road half mile off A5 on left hand side where Greyhound Plant is based now, Cheer’s Pete
Good to see Mansel Davies on this thread , Dave would often post them up . Very often i see them in Portmadoc on there way to the cremery near Pwllheli , Ianto and Pete i believe that T E Jones still owns the site near Nesscliff, they also bought out Vaggs coaches from Oswestry , thank you Trevor .

Lovely old picture pete They had a few Fodens , that one looksit could be ex Richard Johnson and Nephew , having a Derbyshire reg , thank you Trevor .
I wonder if that is a transfer from buxton . Hughs Bros - derbyshire granite was owned by the same family and they made basalt flags at waterswallows quarry . I recall they had one or two flats for that job . I don’t know if craig lelo made flags , but it seems a logical for the derbyshire registration on the lorry . I still have some of their flags on my back yard and they are over 1 cwt each and really hard as nails . dave

Not sure but i think that Craig Lelo used to manufacture ogee concrete pipes
I clocked the Derby reg no, she looks a little worn out!
Hughs bros liked to get their moneys worth out of their fleets . Wen i started as an apprentice in 1959 at hill head quarries ( another one of theirs in buxton )they were still running 1942 and 1947 8 wheelers . When the fairground came each year they bought any that were beyond all repair , probably for the gardner engines and scrap value . They also ran 4 gmc 6x6 lime spreaders built in 1942 with perkins p6 engines instead of petrol engines . Back to the picture , looking at the mirrors i would guess it was much later and retired to internal work .Dave
