Trevor, H J Lea have the old Dalgety mill at Aston,a blending plant at Preas Heath and and a place at Wheelock. They purchased Waterhouses at Malpas last year, not sure if the mill at Congleton is still running or if it’s been sold for development.all part of the Oakes millers family which includes Morn Flakes at Crewe.

Morning Trevor,
Here is a Peter Davies photo of A A Peate’s, it was new to J N Miller of Wolverhampton, Peates bought it when it was 12 years old, when Peates finished Miller’s bought it back and it was cut up for scrap by my Father, Cheer’s Pete
Many years ago i used to carry animal feed from a Peate’s mill that was located at Maesbury near Oswestry until the mill had a fire and it closed

As far as I know ianto the Albion above worked out of that mill situated next to the Montgomery Canal.
It must have been late 80s early 90s when i was carrying out of there i know that Oswestry Waste Paper were also using some of the buildings for storage it was around the time that R A Owen of Llandinam bought the the Scania p93 six wheeler bulk blower
I seem to recall reading that Peake’s at Maesbury were the main users of the Montgomery Canal back in the days before any of us were born. My late father-in-law was one of the movers in starting the restoration of the “Monty” and his ashes are buried next to the towing path at one of the locks.
It’s asking too much to expect that anyone has photos of narrow boats on the Montgomery, this being a lorry drivers’ site?
