Hi Dave,
Sorry for late reply, I googled the reg number as it looked similar to an ERF wagon and drag that Holdens Brewery ran and that was the result, Cheer’s Pete

Hi Dave,
That is a good shot, I presume the old garage is on the same spot as the Spar one now, so camers man looking towards railway bridge with the island behind him? What would those “glass bowls” on top of the pumps be worth now? Cheer’s Pete ps. Thank you for posting all Neils pics, very interesting.

Yes same site and angle Pete. The Spar shop and cafe and offices are quite a bit bigger than the old building.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
Those “glass bowls”, didn’t like bright light and sunshine it making them very fragile
after a while, and they would usually shatter if not carefully removed for cleaning
purposes and as they stood out in all weather’s I don’t suppose many originals will
have survived, they was OK if not touched but great care was needed should you
want to clean one or change a bulb, a bit more useless information imparted by me.
PS I had a diamond shaped one advertising I think POWER I dropped it a while back.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hi Harry,A neighbour of mine had a POWER petrol sign covering the top of his hen house for years. Don’t know what happened to it, but he had it over 60 years ago, and it never faded.
Cheers Dave.
