We saw this Allelys Heavy Haulage outfit going along the A5 at Nesscliffe in Shropshire yesterday.We had just finished
our stop for breakfast so we caught it up and got some pics from the rear and then overtook the wagon with the locomotive on board and pulled in a lay-by for Tracy to get the pics of the front near Shrewsbury.
It was a bit misty for taking pics,but we don’t see a load like this everyday.

That steam loco looks like what is known as a British Rail Standard Class Tank; Designed in the early '50s as a “modern” steam loco that should have run until the late '70s when we were meant to be all electric. Built originally to replace the pre war engines that were knackered after the war.
…I’ll hang the anorak up now. I wonder if John’s got any Budweiser left? :laughing: :laughing:

Just guessing Nathan,but I reckon Allelys had picked that loco up from Llangollen where there is a steam railway and were taking it for repairs somewhere.
