We both did a bit for Delahays and KTH once they took over.
Cheers James
I used to check the weight tickets for Lee, and noticed the names of hauliers that did some for them. I think a lady in the Bromyard office did it over there.
Cheers Dave.
True enough Dave it’s a shame to have to run in dull white colours when working in quarries.
Anyhow before i bore everyone with too many blue lorries I’ll knock it on the head for tonight and pop a few more on tomorrow maybe.
Cheers James

Thanks James, for putting some great pics on the thread. I will be off the sleep before long, as soon as the darts finish on the TV, a little voice will be calling with a sleepy tone.
Cheers Dave.
Hiya,
Dave, are day cabs no longer available, from my experience tippers are normally round the door’s
jobs and the driver is almost certain to be in his own bed every night, day cabs are surely quite a
bit lighter and therefore a larger payload could be carried, Having said that I drove an F88 on long
distance work and although it was a full sleeper I always slept in digs so really I too was carrying a
bit of unnecessary weight which could have been converted to payload, so I can’t spout.
thanks harry, long retired.

Day cabs are still available on these rigid tippers Harry. C W Griffiths have day cabs on these pictured, but some of their others have got sleeper cabs on them. I think they have them, so that the drivers can have a kip if they are on night work, and have a lot of waiting to tip.
Cheers Dave.
J&B have sleeper cabs even on trucks that they know will be home every night Dave, they say the reason is, they can send the lorry up the road if needed, also the resale value is a lot higher, and the vehicle is easier to sell. As you know they sell trucks, and people looking for day cabs are few and far between. They have run day cabs for a short time if a job comes up and they have one in stock, but they get shot of them when the jobs done.
cheers
John.

Agree with you about that John. Paul has a mix of sleepers and rest cabs. The last few new one’s he’s bought have been day cabs. He sells his wagons privately usually to previous buyers, as they are well maintained and looked after.
Cheers Dave.
