Here’s one with the number in view Dave. Perhaps you can identify it.
Cheers Dave.

I didn’t realise that Hazelcroft Garage ran any ERF’s, I only knew them with Fodens as they were a Foden truck agency?

Pete.

that was the only erf 8 wheeler hazel croft ran , driven by the late eric fenton . it was heavier than the fodens , so it was the only one they had . i think that erf in the middle of the three was my mount for a while . i had i had an argument with a stray cow and it was repaired with a different type grill . if the numbers were on view i could name the drivers . cheers , dave

A E Gough had several ERF’s brand new, such as this one here with the Radnorshore FO numberplate. The one in the carnival hasn’t got a local number, so you might know this one.
Cheers Dave.

neither of those last motors were hazelcroft dave , most of the erf units were e10 powered lightweight lorries . they only had 2 x 14 litre units which i believe went to the north east . i ended up on a foden 6x4 ■■■■■■■ 320 , i think that went somewhere up bewick’s area . sad end to a good firm , i did 3 spells for them totalling 16 years , the last 4 with the new firm under the nephew . cheers , dave

Next time I see Simon or Michael Gough I will ask them about the ERF’s Dave. As you can see, a few years back they ran quite a few ERF’s, along with some Daf’s and a couple of Leylands.
Cheers Dave.

Cheers Dave.

Be nice to see it restored one day Dave. Would like to find my Dad’s B Series even more

Cheers Dave…the old L plate A series been restored looks great. Gwilts have some great old photo’s in there office of the vehicles. Might try and ask if I can scan them. Great to look online for the old fleets I remember as a kid. Setting my Dad up online after Christmas so want to find sites he will enjoy

A49 2012.

A44 Kington bypass 2010.
These are the only others that I have of W L R Gwilt, unless I have some at a show. Look forward to seeing some of their old one’s Wayne.
Cheers Dave.

Dave that is my uncle’s one. Though no longer as he has retired this year. As did my Dad.

They have kept the 58 plate in photo but sold my Dad’s 52 plate. So only one vehicle on road now. When I was a kid had 8 on road that was 80’s

My Dad left school on a Friday at the age of 15. Started at WLR Gwilts on the following Monday. And retired at 66 years old…51 years. And Mr Gwilt still alive when he retired at 99 years old. Don’t think that happens much these days. Unfortunately Mr Gwilt died later this year.
