Hiya,
Dave these lads have a yard about a mile from my place it’s Pickfords old yard and next
door to the Aluminium works who they have the contract with that motor would most
likely have been loaded out of there.
thanks harry, long retired.

You’ll know better than me Harry - think Allinsons have been round a long time - seem to remember seeing their trucks (sorry - lorries) in the early seventies. As soon as you see the name your brain attaches the town, Darlington.

Bit like Eddie Stobart - Caldbeck!

Oh, aren’t they there any more? Wash my mouth out with soapy water!

Hiya,
Yes John Allinsons are still in their main depot at Faverdale Darlington but are currently
using Pickfords old yard at Birtley to keep several trailers and there is usually a couple
of units knocking about their customer the aluminium extruder are directly next door a
handy place to be I reckon, out of one gate into another and park up.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hi Harry,
Same as you and John I’ve seen George Allinson wagons about for years, never relly looked on the side to see where they are from. They must have a big fleet.
Cheers Dave.

Used to be three on the main road in Bayston Hill Graham, but its narrow where you pass this one. The Fox was demolished and replaced by houses a couple of years ago,.The Three Fishes and The Compasses which Trevor says. There could be more pubs back of the road,as its quite a big place. As John says, a lot of wagons stop in the layby overnight just down the road.
Cheers Dave.
