It only seems recently that Con Downton was one of us regulars in the Colin Campbell pub on a Saturday lunchtime, but it must be over forty years.
Where was the Colin Campbell pub ROF ? I sort of remember it but can’t place where it was.

I shall be generous enough to ignore the comments with regard to my “immigrant status” up here int’ frozen North. Sufficient to say that I may employ the old immigrant trick of waving my EU work permit at the bloke in the customs office/border control at Strensham on my way to resume residence in God’s Own County before the Almighty takes me to a better place (confidence, or what?).
On a slightly more sensible note, if one was to take a Southward route from Gloucester cross down Southgate Street, turn right at the Spa lights, go across the locally-built swing bridge over the canal, The “Sir Colin Campbell” pub would be almost directly in front of you, on the right-hand side of the road. That is, providing that you didn’t take another right turn along the side of the dock.
Hope that makes it clearer. Don’t wait outside to buy me a pint- as has been noted, it closed years ago. Nothing to do with me. Honest.

The customs control has now moved from Strensham to the new Gloucester Services now Casey. If you haven’t got the correct paperwork, you will e told to go back " from whence you came " with a size 11 boot in the backside.
They are employing big nasty old lorry drivers to do the job.
Cheers Dave.

That’s quite a relief, Dave. With the customs being moved to Gloucester services, I shall be able to slip in by the back door, employing one of many back road routes I had worked out in the days when trying to get within walking distance of home when on a “dodgy”. Sorry, of course I meant “detour”.
In any case, a couple of nasty lorry drivers would be nothing to me, having been threatened with flocks of highly-trained sheep, armed to the teeth. Or gums, given the state of most Forest sheep!

I had a close encounter with the Forest sheep wandering across the road in front of me about twenty years ago Casey. I stopped, but could hear the screech of tyres behind me, and had time to move forward before this chav in a Fiesta rammed into the back of my motor.
Cheers Dave.
No, no, you misunderstand the Forest mentality, Dave. The Fiesta driver was aiming for the sheep, not you!

His aim was crap then Casey, a he was sliding towards the back of my vehicle, but being a lorry driver I was watching the mirrors.
Cheers Dave.
