The biggest selling of the early Swedish motor’s in the UK in their day.
Welsh Border timber haulier John Weaver had one of his Dodge 300 series at Gaydon, which like his other Spanish Dodge is an ex Burgoynes of Lyonshall lorry.
Both were rebuilt and restored by Knighton Commercial Vehicle restoration maestro Alan Coxill.
These Volvo FL’s were considered small by a lot of drivers, but they did a lot of work and were reliable.

Hiya,
Would have loved to have done the Gaydon “thing”, some cracking stuff there, quite
a mix of old and new the current stuff is of zero interest to me, I can walk a short
distance and stand on a motorway bridge and watch new stuff for free all day long
if I choose too but there aren’t many old Atki’s, ERF’s and Big Js travelling the A1 M
in this day and age, So Dave it’s a big thank you to yourself and Tracy and others
who go out of their way to take pics and post them for myself and no doubt many
more TNUK members and I suppose there are a lot of “just looker in’s” who do also
appreciate the efforts that you go to to keep filling the pages with items of interest.
thanks harry, long retired.
Yes I would like too say a big thank you to Dave and Tracy and the rest of the TNUK members for posting the pictures on this site . It is a good website I look at it every day and are really pleased with the pictures that are posted on here . Once again keep up the good work . Tony

No problem Tony. Got quite a few more from Gaydon to post yet. We only went to the Retro and Hereford shows this year. Hope you and your family are OK.
Cheers Dave.
I spent about eight months driving one of these with a two speed axle and power steering, and plenty of pulling power, it beat the Bedford TK’s by a country mile.
i like the morris / bmc , the first lorry i drove with a "heater ". open the oil filler flap on top of the engine cover and let the engine heat in . it only really worked on the uphills though . cheers , dave

The one I drove through the winter of 69/70 Dave, had a good heater and had the 507 under-slung engine and was a good lorry to drive.
Cheers Dave.
