A Scania eight wheeler tipper, seen in Penrhyndeudraeth. If I remember rightly.

It looks tidy for an 03 reg; Our 03s’ are beginning to show their age now.

Penrhydeudraeth brings back memories,at W.H MALCOLMs in the 70s early 80s we used to deliver to nobels at Penrhydeudraeth, cant remember the name of the stuff but it was white granules in shiney backs, terrible load ,always slipping in the sheets no matter what you did, gave your matches and lighters up at the gate and lit your ■■■■ at a gas light holein the wall in a special shed, seems very old fashioned thinking about it now.

Hi ardennes,
Sounds as if you know most of Wales pretty well. I haven’t seen many of Charles Footman wagons about recently, probably haven’t been in the right places to see them. Occasionally see one of W H Malcolms wagons around. A lot of the type of jobs you mention with the granules are probably moved differently these days with all the hazardous goods regs. Good to have your input on the thread.
Cheers Dave.

A Scania, taking a break at Morrisons Leominster.

A couple of Paul Booths motors in the woods.

Have got a lot of Paul’s pics. Apologies if I’ve posted any previously.

My old mate Tom Williams whose funeral was last Wednesday. I worked with Tom when he drove for William Powell & Son from Kington, and later worked alongside him when I drove for C W Griffiths hauling from the local quarries. He drove a brand new ERF eight legger for Powells, and later drove Fodens for Sharples, like this one which he drove from new. A great bloke passed away aged 87 RIP Tom.

You are right Ianto, it is a Daf. I wasn’t looking very hard when I posted it.
Cheers Dave.

Bit closer

Two more of R &B’s.

One of the quarry artic tippers, seen on the A49 at Leominster.

One of Bayliss Bros eight leggers, seen on the A438 at Letton, Herefordhire this afternoon. This road was impassable yesterday after the River Wye burst its banks.

Dave the Renegade:

We took a trip to Telford this morning.A lot of roads in Herefordshire and Shropshire were closed due to flooding.

My camera person was a bit nervous.

This was the deepest, under the railway bridge at Craven Arms.

Much better when we came back, only a couple of bits to negotiate.

Nothing new with flooded roads, we took these in September 2012.

It has been a lot worse around the area this last weekend ,than when those pics were taken Harry, a lot of roads closed. We are OK here. I try and stay out of water, as it can cause long term damage to a vehicle.
Cheers Dave.

Radnor Forest after most of the snow had melted. We couldn’t see it from our place this morning through the snowflakes.

Enough of the weather. A Daf curtainsider, seen on the A44 at Barons Cross, Leominster.
