Hi Dave , was that a rigid or an artic , thanks by the way for providing the R and B shots ! . regards Keith

I think it was a rigid Keith, previously owned by Davies of Bucknell,or vice versa. Got a good source of pics from R & B, both Paul Booth and Martin Bennet have kindly let me use their pics for this thread which is great.
Cheers Dave.

Super pics as usual from you David. All three of those hauliers have packed in. Peter Lloyd has just retired. Bayliss Brothers now run about ten artics and a couple of eight wheelers. Mike Morgan packed the lorries up, but still runs his garage business.
Cheers Dave.

You’re welcome Dave. It is good to find out a bit about them

Pete Lloyd retired about a month ago. I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago and he said he was bored, but he said, he has let his licence go, but would like a part-time job just to keep him occupied. I got the Volvo FM wrong David, its one of Bayliss Brothers old one’s. Brian Griffiths had one with a number very close to that. I looked at the number and not the name. Memo to myself to pay more attention.
Cheers Dave.

I retired just under 4 years ago Dave and I can honestly say that I have never wanted to go back. I have had a couple of part time jobs in that time but am not looking for anything. My licence is due for renewal next May and I don’t know whether to bother with it. I have not done the driver CPC so I couldn’t go for a driving job.

There are a lot of drivers this way David, who are either close to, or over retiring age who aren’t going to bother with the DCPC. After next August there will be quite a number of hauliers struggling to find drivers.
Several would probably have carried on a while longer, but don’t want the hassle of sitting for 35 hours doing the DCPC.
Cheers Dave.

That’s right Keith, we see them on the Brecon to Leominster road regularly, always good to see their motors.
Cheers Dave.
