Hi Harry,
Several of the timber hauliers this way run that setup. I think its the configuration of the crane etc, also the setup suits the tight area’s of forests for access etc. Mike Morgan has that one plus a about three more, some artics and possibly another like this one. His brother Barry runs a similar fleet on timber as well.
Cheers Dave.

This stack of timber will keep Terry and his mates busy.

Hi buffaloman ,
Certainly do , ran a very smart fleet of AECs and Leyland artics on steel work from Margham to the West MIds . Seem to remember it was a pale blue livery , but no doubt Dave will confirm this , but what ever they put most firms in the shade at Margham regarding fleet presentation .
I can not remember the stock wagons , but they also had a Leyland Retriever 6 rigid .regards Keith .

Yes I certainly do remember Charlie Owens fleet, as Keith says he ran a smart fleet of wagons. He packed the lorries up in the early 1970’s and concentrated on treated timber etc.
C D Owens was a first class haulier, as was Ivor Jay from the same area.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Keith,
Yes Ivor Jay did a lot of work out of Woodcemair at Shobdon. From memory he ran Guy Big J’s and Seddon’s as well as other wagons. A mate of mine will know more,as his Dad was in the office for Ivor Jay.
I think C D Owens did a few different things, such as Beeches at Three Elms Hereford,so would quite likely work out of Coleford as well.
Cheers Dave.

Hi David,
Looks as if that pic is around Hereford. Possibly one of Mick Gwynn’s earliest wagons after staring on his own.
Cheers Dave.

Terry Bird lighting things up.

Merry Christmas to you, Dave. Must get out this week or so over to your way to see some timber wagons!

Here’s one of Knighton’s finest over in Worcestershire last week:
