These were taken around Leominster Dave. The two tippers were local but don’t know about
the timber wagon. Where did all the FLs go? They seemed to vanish almost overnight.

Hi David,
The tippers belonged to Terry Parry who was a partner in J & H Parry of Shawbury before setting up on his own. Sadly I believe he is no longer with us. Don’t know who the timber wagon belongs to.
There are still a few FL’s knocking around in this area. A good lorry in there day,but I suppose the Volvo FM has been around for fourteen years or so now.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Charlie,
I knew Terry quite well years ago, he lived with my cousin Chris for a long time, he’s been here and I’ve been to his house near Hadnall many years ago. I didn’t know he had gone until a couple of months ago.
Been to the yard at Shawbury with him a couple of times, when he was still in the family business,a nice bloke and about the same age as me. He had a Landrover with a V6 in it.
Cheers Dave.

Used to be a pub called the Wharf Harry, way before my time. Its two hoses now, partly hidden by the first wagon. I suppose in its day it was a coaching or drovers inn.
Cheers Dave.

Very true Casey, just go to the visitor centre especially on a Sunday, loads of them there.
Cheers Dave.
If I went on a weekend I’d probably get myself killed. Best time is a summer weekday, before breakfast, after the dew has burned off.
