To be honest I don’t know Keith, it could be up at Ted Thomas ( no relation ) place, up a side road this side of Rhayader. Ted used to have a red Scammell with a Showman’s trailer he took around the shows and rally’s.

Another fact that I don’t know Keith. I haven’t seen Ted out with it for a few years now, he’s getting on a bit now. I will ask one of my mates that lives up that way. Just remembered I’m seeing Alan Spillett tomorrow, he’s a good mate of Ted’s and will probably call on him on his way here.

Had a word with Alan Spillett this morning when he called Keith, he had just come from Ted Thomas place,he said that Ted’s wife looked after the showmans van, but he couldn’t imagine her driving the Scammell.

I think most older generation lorry drivers were capable of that Casey, there was no mobiles to ring for help etc,you just had to work things out for yourself and live by your wits.
