R & B stand for Harry Rice and his partner ? Bufton. They have recently added another yard at the sawmills near Newbridge on Wye.TNUK members Price or Yanto would probably know who the Lampeter firm were.

Yes that’s the company Dave, don’t know where I got Lampeter from
they had some TM’s with Detroits in, I think they ran timber to Kronospan at Chirk and steel back from Shotton. I used to see them in the Lion cafe at Gobowen.

Hi Dave , Lovely fleet R&B ,especially the former AEC Mandators on steel work that Tastrucker has mentioned . They really looked the business at Margham .
Dave i can remember them when they had the contract retrieving rails and sleepers from the former Mid Wales railway , i think the stretch was from Builth up to Llanidloes . It was back then the AECs and their was also a Leyland Comet artic as well . regards Keith

That’s them Keith, I have asked Paul if he has any pics of the AEC’s and the older motors, so hopefully he will stick them on. He’s come up with a few each day. As you say their fleet has always looked smart.
Cheers Dave.
