One of the most rated 6wheelers ever built amongst some of Smiths old timers, Dave.

They were rated this way Nathan,this one pictured in the 90’s is still working.The Constructors with the same driveline was just as good.These wagons did a lot of work doing longer distances than the modern lorries as the artics are doing the distance jobs from the quarries these days.

Missed your post with the question regarding the class one licence bubsy.The HGV licences were coming in from 1970 onwards as your car licence ran out.You had to have 6 months driving whatever class between April 1969 and April 1970.My car licence ran out in August 1971,but in January 1971 I had a bad accident which finished my lorry driving.I wouldn’t have qualified for a class one but would have for a class two as I drove four and six wheelers.Would have took a test for an artic but it was not to be.Got my national and international cpc’s, that’s what keeps me involved with lorries.When C W Griffiths ran these in yellow the Gore quarry was Tilcon,there were no tarmac quarries in this area then.
