just asking why would you put snow chains on the front axle.when i was driving on snow the perpous of snow chains is for traction.
when i was doing italy and austria i never put chains on the front not even in 9 inch of snow.

Tried and failed to blow this pic bigger.William Powell of Kington were a fair sized building firm in Kington,as well as running about a dozen lorries on tipper and general haulage work.Fred Newman RIP stood next to the Ford Thames builders lorry later drove Bedford TK’s and finally a Bedford KM out of the Gore quarry before coming off the lorries due to health issues.
