Another one courtesy of David AKA truckfing. A Volvo FL10 with a rear mounted crane, possibly piped for a drag.

Will be a stretched Tractor Unit won’t it, IIRC the FL10 was never avaliable below an 8 wheeler in Rigid form

Hi Dave, this motor belongs Keith Thomas of Pontlottyn at the top of the Rhymney Valley. The K J stands for Keith and Jeff his cousin. Keith had plant in most of the South Wales colleries and after they closed bought, sold and refurbished Caterpillar equipment. A few of my friends work for him, and they are based at the old HY-MAC site. Graham gbh1 will know of them.
A real grafter Keith, built up a decent company. I may be 3000 miles away but still have ties in South Wales through this and our sister site.
Many thanks to you Dave.

Regards Paul.

Hi Paul,
I think I’ve seen both yourself and Graham refer to these chaps on the old HY-MAC site before. David AKA Truckfing kindly sent me the photo to post. Its always nice to get more information about a vehicle.
Cheers Dave.

Haven’t been that way in a long, long while but Swains of Stretton (as opposed to Steve Swain) actually bought the industrial estate they were on just before you come into Minsterley on the right.
Steve Swain was one of the sons if I remember correctly, and I think J Parry or T J Parry (?) (who used to be at Bayston Hill) ended up with Swains old yard just off the A458 and very near to where Blowers were.
Ancient (and probably wrong!) geography lesson over, sorry for the interruption!

No problem Cavlad, your contribution is always welcome.I don’t travel Minsterley way very often,so I’m not that familiar with the area.
Cheers Dave.
