hiya,
The Leyland commercial vehicle museum is a must if in the area,
there’s an old Aki belonging to W H Bowker in there, this was never
my motor but when the regular (driver who was London based and
worked for MAT) was off sick I drove this motor for a week London
to S,Wales tip/load return every day, it only had the 180 Gardner
but ran sweet as a nut and in the words of 240 Gardner is still the
same, when the driver retired (he’s now deceased) he was gifted
the motor and went home from Blackburn to London with it,
although there are many pics of it on here I thought Graham might
have taken a photo of it when he was there but then it may have
been out at a rally or a road run as I said it is in mint condition and
gets a frequent airing.
thanks harry, long retired

Here you are Harry - especially for you!

hiya,
I’m afraid this old girl didn’t shine quite so well after a week in my hands
but that was due to the regular drivers instruction, his parting words when
I collected the motor one Sunday afternoon “and John’s parting instructions”
were to check the oil and water but please don’t attempt to wash the old
girl she would have been about five at the time and me being me followed
his directions to the “T” the same lad did all of his own maintainence in his
own time, oil and filter changes the lot, he did refer to the Atki as my friend.
thanks harry, long retired.

Dave the Renegade:

A nice looking ERF with some history on the board.

I photographed this one’s sister last week Dave. Still grafting

It won’t be the first time I’ve been wrong, but I’m sure TankFreight used to run a lot of ERFs with ‘PUB’ numberplates.

Anyhow great work as ever Dave, keep 'em coming please!
