Welsh Border and Mid Wales Hauliers 1950's onwards

Be interesting to know some of the drivers take on the differences between these two.Was the F10 a big improvement after the F88 ?

Must have been a fair bit of kit in 1985.

This 1978/9 Seddon/Atki looks a bit more dated.

Another Sed/Atki 401.

Not sure what this Unimog is used for, perhaps Forestry or fencing !

Bonnet-ed Scania on its own.

They’d be a good buy for a builder/groundworker or as a startup motor.

hiya,
Dave just a bit of useless information and nowt to do with the thread
but the forestry guys up this way have returned to using horses for
bringing whole trees from felling point to the loading point, and the
guys working the horses think they’re great for the job.
thanks harry, long retired.

They used to use them in this area when I was a boy Harry. There’s a chap lives about half a mile from here who had two heavy horses for tushing timber. He is now in his late 80’s,but still keeps horses on his land. He worked one horse himself and another forestry commission employee worked the other. There is a chap from Presteigne who goes around with a heavy horse pulling timber and giving demonstrations. He has been on TV a few times.
Cheers Dave.

Don’t see many four wheeler tippers for sale these days Nathan.A good place to advertise it at a lorry show.
Cheers Dave.

This Huggins Scania is a regular around the showss.

Now I might be wrong, but I reckon that Scania driver might be afraid of the dark,

The bloke with this ERF must have decent eyesight.
