Not much in there to escape by the look of it Dennis,probably good enough to keep the sheep in,they aren’t much bigger than rabbits on the hills.

Cader Idris - Idris’s Chair,I remember seeing that from me Mandator Dave.And my old Manx pal over here recalls doing exercises in the Trawsfynedd area when he was in the army,early 50s.That’s where the underground Hydro Electric power staion is I think?? :question:

Not sure if that peak is Cader Idris Chris,but its pretty close.Trawsfynedd has a nuclear power station,as its got the lake for cooling.Possibly a hydro system as well.Some of the North Wales members would have more info.

I’ve got no idea what goes on there either but my "old man"was a machine driver on there when i was nowt but a lad and I seem to remember him talking about “hydro electric’s” he was down that way for a long time.

You are spot on Harry,just had a look on Wikipedia.
The village is close to Llyn Trawsfynydd, a large man-made reservoir which was originally built, between 1924 and 1928, to supply water for Maentwrog hydro-electric power station.

Hi Dave,do you remember the Healings flour mills{ALLIED MILLS} ERFs running up your way to IDEAL BAKERY Aberystwyth just near the Daf dealer on the industrial estate.Do you have any photos they were up there every week in the 70s,80s,90, and upto mid 2000s.cheers flourpower

Yes I do remember Healings of Tewkesbury running through this area,but unfortunately haven’t any photo’s of them.I know where you mean on the industrial estate at Aberystwyth.The only old pics that I have posted on this thread are what people have lent me.
