An 8LXB in the other Atki wrecker.
XDW 878K is in one of the Wynns books, listed as being one of 3 Atkinson Venturers bought in 1972 [with XDW 578K and XDW 877K]. Around 1980 converted to wrecker using body and crane from Diamond T PDW 321, transferred to Stafford in 1982, around 1983 sold to Ross Roadways, Whitchurch, Ross on Wye, sold for preservation around 2002.
Wynns must have liked them as they bought another 5 Venturers the following year.
Neil.
Hi Neil,

Hi Harry,
Have known the chap for years and knew he had a lot of old wagons at his place, but didn’t realise that he had as many.Have about 50 more pics to post, also we didn’t get pics of them all,so if I can persuade Tracy to put her jeans and wellingtons on we will go back.
Cheers Dave.

A TK cab from the Leominster area judging by the phone number.

Hi Harry,
She had shorts and sandles on when she took these pics. Not really suitable for scrambling through nettles plus a load of sheep muck. The fella that owns them said hasn’t she got wellingtons. We went there on the spur of the moment on the way back from somewhere, not a planned visit. We will go back when the leaves are off the trees.
Cheers Dave.

A fairly complete TK with some decent sized mirroes.

Nearside view of the TK,which looks as if its been a breakdown wagon in its last working life.

Ex R B Montague & Sons of Preston on Wye ERF B series.
Dave some amazing photos there. Went just over the border on saturday and found these two girls. The first one is an ex-RHM Foden 8 wheeler cut down to a 6.May interest Flourpower. She has a 180 Gardner and a 12 speed box. Original number plate as well. The second is an Atkinson,150 Gardner,Dai Brown and Kirkstall. The cab looks a bit oversized to me and maybe should have a MK 1. Hope some one can sort that out.She was an ex-sainsbury unit it has PAS and autolube. The atki past to the circus world and there is a big winch behind the back axle to pull the big top up. Unfortunatly she will have to be moved on or scrapped space is required. Dont need another mouth to feed but if it saves her from the gas axe then I wll part with some cash.Regards Rich.Dave tell Harry I
ll have her serviced and cleaned ready for a load of Welsh Whisky bound for The North.Trailers sealed until it reaches customs.

Excellent pics Rich, that RHM Foden looks tidy,a pity it was cut down, but still looking good.
Cheers Dave.

We couldn’t get a front pic of these two,as they were parked to close to the hedge. Will get them when the leaves are gone.

I think the cannibals have been at this Atki.

Is that a rain cooled Gardner sticking out Dave? If so could that be Big J cab??

There is a Big J at the place Rich, but I think it was only the cab.A lot of the lorries are parked three deep near the workshop,so
we couldn’t get pics of them all.

Another view of an old Bedford TK cab.

ERF hay and straw wagon ,with a nice big rack.
