An S type Bedford with some decent mirrors on it.They only had little round things originally.

An AEC Matador.I did drive one of these as a recovery vehicle and enjoyed it.A vehicle with character.

Pulled a trailer with one of these aged eighteen back in the
mid-fifties, anybody been as far as Alor Star on the Thai border
travelling from Kuala Lumpur area??.

Hi Harry . you do have a habit of jogging my memory . based at Ipoh for a while and done a fair bit of chasing around that area in 48/49 went north a bit and remember sungi petan and bukit jam something but never got as north as alor star.all i wanted was to go south to singapore and get on that boat ! talk about a forgotten war!!

I’m pretty sure they were both red.I remember the grey T20 Fergusons and also the first 35’s which were grey with the gold coloured engine.I live in the country and as a young bloke years ago have driven them helping out on farms.
Someone that went to Gaydon may have some pics of the two.

Yeah Dave, like you i lived on farms as a lad and used them too, along with a few other makes,just in the photo the mudguard looks grey.regards Vic.

Beautiful old British designed and built station at Ipoh, that’s where I got
the train to Singapore to return home on the Empire Fowey, Toshboy the
train ride from Ipoh was a nightmare in the time you was there ( OK in my
time) I remember tales of the the Singapore train being attacked by the
CTs on a regular basis, another journey of mine through a bit of dodgy
road was Ipoh to the Cameron Highlands you got a bit of activity up there
from time to time, yes Toshboy a forgotten war as was Korea where I did
a short spell about three months, but I’d do it all over again.

Immaculate Bedford KM at Gaydon.


Another Herefordshire registered O Type Bedford.Vincent Greenhouse from Lyde near Hereford sold hundreds of Bedford lorries and coaches before closing in the 1980s.


This firm had some nice lorries at the show.
