I expect it was Dennis.I hadn’t seen that particular one at that show last year.Only Seddon I drove was a 13/4 with a 6.354 Perkins which I wasn’t keen on with the offset steering wheel.
Cheers Dave.

The offset wheel was because the axle and chassis that was used on the early 13/4 was narrower tracked which in turn meant that the steering box was set in a bit further which resulted in the offset wheel! The 16 tonner, when it was launched had a different, wider track axle and chassis so the steering wheel was “normal”!! Hope this useless info helps Dave!! Cheers Dennis.

The one I drove was a 16 ton gross four wheeler Dennis, same cab as the Guy Big J.Moter Panels cab I believe.I only drove it for fortnight while the regular driver was on holiday, went back on my regular Bedford KM after that.
Cheers Dave.
The first two of Ken Thomas motors we saw.

It was an F reg Dennis. It was a Herefordshire reg,but can’t remember what the rest of it was.The KM that was my regular drive at Philpotts was OVT716F.
Cheers Dave.
Hiya Dave,I think wer’e about 6/7 years apart as this was the 16/4 I was talking about which definitely had a centrally located steering wheel. There was another older seddon 4 wheeler at Fell’s when we took over which we never ran and from memory it was an “F” reg and definitely had an offset wheel, but I can’t re-call wether it was a 13 or a 16 tonner.Cheers Dennis.

Yes they did do a 13 or 14 tonner Dennis. The one C M Philpotts had was a 1968 F reg and was a 16 tonner,it would have been no good in the quarry under that,he replaced it with a new Seddon L reg which I think had a turbo on the 6.354.
Cheers Dave.
Some more of Ken Thomas fleet at Gaydon.
