Hi Dave
Not seen that one haven’t seen Roger for years, the last time I saw him he was running a ERF 6 wheeled tipper, he has always kept his kit up together.
cheers
John.

Hi John
You may also be interested to know the Hanson tipper next to Roger is FG Bonds. G9 FGB. I think its an '06 but I’m probably wrong, I’ve got a job to keep up with the new registration plates let alone personal ones…  Its driven and cleaned by Nick the Gnome, who actually does look like a gnome!

For the most part, Bonds try to have a 9 in their regs because they say its always been lucky for them. The son of FG started that trend back in the late seventies or early eighties…

Rogers 6-wheeler was bought by an OD and stayed in the area for a few years, although not quite so clean (!). I believe it then went to Cornwall but someone may know better than me… It was a '93 reg so I expect the poor old girl is getting to the end of her life now. Cracking lorry though…

More useless info for you all to absorb!!

hiya,
Although they do look the part Dave only ever drove one a couple of hundred yards a half cab thing it was so was’nt impressed but have got to admit they do look well and the absence of all those silly lights and cowcatcher things make them look like workhorses which is what they were made for, there was a couple of lowloaders on the slip road at Washington the other night the loads were sitting within the confines of the trailer no extra width, length and height have actually carried “bigger loads” in the cab but the number of lights flashing, revolving and just lit up i considered dangerous to anyone coming upon them unexpectedly would be scared stiff thinking the aliens had landed, these loads was less than the size of a 40 foot container and would’nt need routeing and certainly not escorting, have carried bigger loads in a wheelbarrow.

It all sounds a bit OTT Harry, that seems to be the way of things these days.A thing which amuses me is tractors have to have a flasher going if they are towing a trailer or any other implement, yet when you foollow one with a load of straw, they haven’t anything on the back,no warning sign or flasher, not even a number plate.Crazy world and rules.
Cheers Dave.

hi lads,
i would say that the artwork on those two units has been applied with an airbrush,as oppossed to computer generated vinyl.you are right dave,it can be a costly business.the artist we work with charges around £250 a day.now remember we are talking artists here,so their interpretation of a days work and ours can be two very different opinions.not bad money for a man with a car, airbrush and an immense talet, but very little overheads.though this is only the artist we have worked with.if i had their ability and my work ethic,i would have money running down the walls
regards andrew.

Hi Dave, great shots there, this Volvo is to be featured in a video for Volvo’s on line magazine. The storyline is called welcome to my cab, with driver Wayne Connelly, who hauls scrap metal around the U.K. with her.

Regards Paul

Weren’t the Daf cabbed Fodens built at Leyland, and that was a big reason for axing the Foden brand?
