Dennis does’nt this one have a cab phone, must be a proper tramper and keeping himself too busy to get back home to find out you’ve called it a day, must have a canny pay packet built up by now and must have made you a few bob in that time.
thanks harry long retired.

The Leominster bypass, which has been built since the Bewick era
it is a hell of a long way round that bypass dave , much quicker when you could turn right at craven arms , left at the top of the hill and come out the other side of leominster . more exciting as well when the steel motors were coming the other way . cheers , dave

Hiya “H” how are you this fine morning? That 112 day cab came new in March '83 and we worked it on double shift for a number of years, trouble free,Daventry on nights then day’s to S. Lancs,Merseyside,Manchester areas. When I took this shot the motor would be about 10 years old(may-be 11/12 years old) and it was shunting between the depot and our Warehouse site in Kendal. It’s probably loaded with either Libby Juice or possibly a load of Paper from Cookes,Beetham Mill. The shot is actually taken at the Gatebeck road junction at Summerlands on the A65! and not where Dave thought it was,the Leominster by-pass!!!
Anyone got any ideas on the location of this shot then? Full details will be posted at a later date when the winner’s name will be anounced(I’ll put the winners “bottle” in the post to you to-day “H”) oop’s thats blown it ,anouncing the winner before the competition has begun!!! Cheers Dennis.

You can still turn right at Craven Arms and go through Leintwardine and Wigmore through to to the Leominster-Brecon road Dave.
Since the Ludlow and Leominster bypasses have been built it has helped the traffic on the A49,but Hereford after all these years, still hasn’t got a bypass. The build up of traffic at Hereford some days is a nighmare.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Quite well thanks Dennis, and you?? have got the glass ready for when the single malt arrives, it’s full, well half, was full but have an habit of drinking the stuff, nice to be a winner now what’s the question??.
thanks harry long retired.
Put the photo up an give us a clue Dennis, ,mind you it sounds like “H” has already won !
Hi Dennis, Do you think the gypsies might have stolen the Gatebeck sign on their journey home after Appleby Fair and then abandoned it on the roadside near Leominster ? The local highways staff then stuck it in the ground believing it had been blown down by the wind, so thats how Dave
might ` be correct. Give him the benefit of doubt, Dennis !
Cheers, cattle wagon man.
