Welsh Border and Mid Wales Hauliers 1950's onwards

If it’s got a tipper sat on 3 axles I’ll give her a go Rich! Used to like the sound of the Super Mastiffs, though I’ve been told by one ex driver “Not if you had driven one-noisy bags of ■■■■!” Another driver said described it as it “wouldn’t pull a priest off a choirboy!”

Atki now back up north,Garstang area. She looked great and went well.Being from a tipper background the Leyland needed to be saved.I think getting one or two parts maybe a problem. She could do with a tidy fuel tank,if I can find one.Maybe someone in your neck of the woods has a scrapped Reiver or Clydesdale lying around. If you dont ask,you dont find out.cheers Rich

Try googling walker machinery. Walkers come from Oxford way and it’s amazing the stuff they’ve got in their yard. Most gets broken for parts or done up for export.

Just looked at the date on the ticket Rich,it is eight days older than I am  .
Cheers Dave.

1976 Leyland Clydesdale tipper 410 engine.Cab held together with freshair.Dad had one normally aspirated, this one is blown so should push on.Thought Muckaway and Dave may like to give her a roadtest. She is now minus cab and body, stripped down, drums and brakes removed.Have got one very good cab, the blue one has a complete interior. The original has the black plastic panels inside, all cracked and gone brittle.

I think Dave Morris has just got old Constructor cabs in his yard now.
Cheers Dave.

Is it me or has someone forgot to put the clock back? Just checked the time of recent postings, before feeding and shooing the rabbits back in their run-want to be in before the fancy-dressed beggers (trick or treaters) hear me swearing at the furry little bu****s!

he did have 2 brandnew Clydesdale cabs at one point dave.

You could be right then escortg3,a TruckNet member took a load of pics in his yard last year and most were Constructors plus an old Austin FG.Perhaps he’s got the bathgate cabs stored.
Cheers Dave.

They leave it set on the same time all year round. I think its to do with the members living in the rest of Europe.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave, Just to let you know that every pic you put on will be enioyed by most of us on this old timey section regardless of it’s age, old or modern. Every scene will have something to remind of times gone, be it the latest offering of an long established fleet that we can compare with their earlier yokes. Then again it may be something not to do with the actual wagon itself but something in the background or whatever so we’ll be relieved to hear you say your going to carry on regardless, and any of us who have an occasional tidbit to put on appreciate the time and effort yourself and Bubbs put in to give daily posts. Thanks.

Elsewhere on here You caught a former Craibs of Aberdeen enjoying a second life and unless I’m very mistaken you’ve done it again with what must have been one of Ian Wrights of Lockerbie. Like I said every pic  …jim

Hi Jim,
Thanks for that will keep the thread going as long as I can, some of the pics are of the same quarry lorries,as most of our stationary pics are taken locally.Hadn’t noticed that the Daf was an ex Scottish lorry, and I do look at the thread that you post the pics on. I have got some older pics to collect when I can catch the owner of them,he promised to lend them, but I haven’t bumped into him lately. Its amazing where the lorries end up. Paul Griffiths sold a few Foden six wheelers to a Scottish firm, small world really.
Cheers Dave.
