Forget my idea of a days training - you have done it for real

cheers again guys and rog any advice you have will be much apreciated

the only thing i felt was weird in the artic was the range change took a bit of getting used to as in the wag and drag i only had a splitter

I assume the training company had a straight 6 speed gearbox with a splitter for each gear which you probably did not use that much as it was empty

As you used the same for the W&D C+E then I can see why you had no experience of a range change.

I do wish training schools would not use the straight 6 with splitter as it does dot give the trainee experience on what they are more likely to find in the real world.

To be honest, I would not advise anyone to do the C+E in a W&D with a straight 6 splitter when they are likely to be driving an ARTIC with a range change for a job.

yeah i couldnt agree more tbh even though im green i think its a big failing that you dont learn range change in a wagon and drag with six speed splitter

and yeah it was a merc atego space cab 230 bhp with six speed splitter with the rigid on its own was pretty nippy but with the trailor on even empty it wouldnt pull a skin of a rice pudding

Training schools use W&Ds to save paying for an artic and then tell the trainee that they are better off as they know the rigid bit :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Congratualitions baby spider.

I’ve learnt my rigid with a range change, so it sounds like I’m set up for my artic. (All the wagons at my training school were range change, hope I never end up with a six speed split  )
