Parked up, walking down the side of the motor ready to do the last drop on my first run this morning and one of the airbags blew.
Certainly go with a bang dont they, ■■■■ near ■■■■ myself
I’ve had two go in the past 6 months, and they do go like bombs. I was putting my dog clip on when the first one went. It sounds funny, but it really wasn’t.
Only the 2nd one i have had go in 39 years
I had an offside front one go when I was on the buses. Right underneath me arse. Nearly crapped meself.
Some years ago when I was making a delivery to a Tesco store, a wagon delivering milk had a bag go the milk was running all over the place, the bang had burst the plastic bottles. Some Warehouse staff where drenched in milk.
I had one go about 3 feet away from me as I was raising a trailer level with a dock that only had a plate. Felt like a proper punch to the guts!
I had an airbag go off in the early hours of the morning while doing a trailer swap at Highland Spring… I was on the catwalk at the time, so it was right underneath me . I’m sure I left claw marks down the back of the cab… Not to mention frightening half of the village.
Mercedes fitter came from Newbridge and had me sorted within an hour… brilliant service.
Are these the suspension bags we’re talking about here?
What’s the deal with getting them replaced then? Do you have to be fully recovered or can you limp on to a garage?

I would think that would depend on if you were an agency driver re the limping. In this instance i managed to get the motor back to our workshop as it was only a lickle 26 tonner and only had about a ton left on it

Depends what suits you, if you’ve time to wait for a fitter then sit and wait. If your needing gone then tie off the airline on the blown bag with a cable tie and your away
