3rd time lucky. Give it your best shot and let’s hope for a good result

As it says on the MUG.

Keep Calm and Carry On.

Come on Megawhat ! Get it passed.

Good luck with your test, you’ve come this far, It’s time go nail your pass certificate,

Stop keeping us in suspense

How did you do?

Yeah,come on Mega.
Pass ? or Fail ?

I think he is out getting ■■■■■■ and is in a deep coma somewhere sleeping it off

Megawhat, how did ya do boh

Errr… not a pass, sadly. In fact it was a complete fegging disaster.

Eleven minors. Including one section with six minors, three in each field. Most for mirrors, two for appropriate speed at junctions, which I think also tied into the dangerous.
Three serious, one which was upped to dangerous once the test was over.
All in all, a very… lackluster test compared to the last one.

The serious numero uno was pulling out of a junction onto a 60mph road while other traffic was coming. Now, this junction had a great big whack-off tree growing so far over the road I couldn’t see more than a hundred feet. Even had I edged out it would have done me no good BUT instead of telling the examiner this, so he was aware that I was aware, I just went for it… and some $£$%%£ doing about 70 came flying out of nowhere and passed me. So that was the first serious, I knew I’d failed then and there.
The second was negotiating a tight right hand turn at a set of traffic lights, clipped the kerb hard, went right over it with the back wheels. Knew that was it too.
The third one, which was classed as dangerous was pure panic. Crowded street in the middle of the city, approaching traffic lights for a pedestrian crossing (And we all know how sensible pedestrians are!) The light was green, I was rolling forwards, checked mirrors, looked up, it was suddenly amber. Was this a problem? Not really, I could have kept rolling and it would have been just fine, even though there were pedestrians a short hair from the edge of the road they weren’t moving. Did I? Nope! Slammed on the brakes so hard that the poor beggar in the seat next to me nearly went through the cab window. First time I stalled the truck too, super! The problem there was just panicking. Were it not the test, I’d have just kept going.

So… yeah. Now it’s time to go back to my cave, count pennies, and see if it really is worth doing this a fourth time around. My instructor might say I’m a capable driver… but I still have to get through the bleedin’ test first!

You sound extremely deflated. And no-one can blame you for that.

I assume it was nerves that contributed towards your errors as I’m guessing that you don’t make those kind of errors in training.

I had a rough time of getting my CE and thought I’d never do it. Only persistence got me through.

I know exactly how you feel. Weigh up the finances and try and find enough for another go.

Best of luck

known a few trainees like you - great drivers but as soon as the TEST starts their brains went to mush

One trainee I had went to mush as soon as the word test was mentioned and in no way could I let them drive to the test centre as it was unsafe !!

Don’t give up. If you give up you might as well give up in future. I work with a bloke who admitted to me that he failed his test 6 times and from the sounds of it you was the same as him, a nervous bloke on test day!

Just keep at it dude, making all these mistakes now is just getting all the nerves out of your system. Lets face it, you wont be doing all these errors again will you? Just keep at it and you WILL get there in the end, we all know you will. If you give up now all the money you’ve spent will be for nothing, it’ll be cheaper to keep on going! You’ll get there in the end mate. Try eating some fruit before the test/night before, apples/bananas etc, the natural sugars/energy might keep the nerves at bay and help you to concentrate.

Keep trying and dont give up

Keep trying ! Don’t lose hope ! NEVER GIVE UP ! Persevere !

You’ll nail it one fine day.

As Dean says we all bin there , so sorry it was a fail but you come this far dont give up, lick ya wounds take stock and get a retest booked , i failed my class 1 twice passed 3rd and was seriously thinking of not carrying on but got myself together and was 3rd time lucky ,
I dont know if it will help but i used rescue rememdy and it did help me wether it was cos it worked or i belived it worked dont know but it helped can be picked up at most supermarkets ,
I know it ■■■■■ but when u pass and get your first run out on your own the feeling is amazing and will be well worth all the heartache we go through on our tests

go get em hun

Same as Jennie, took me to the third go to get through my CE test, really thought i,d passed it first test until the dreaded Kerb :unamused: reared its ugly head  . Then on my second test everything that could go wrong did, including me moving the truck forward on a red light  :open_mouth: Why  i did that i still cant explain to myself, apart from the fact that my head had already gone to mush   But i got home that evening and made a pact with myself that however many tests it was gonna take, even if it meant remortgaging my house, this thing was going to get passed :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:
Got it next go, Just !!  Dont give up, you know you can do it

I had same problem,

On test i ended up turning on the radio and it took my mind off things,

Nerves are strange, when you react the way you do,

I stopped caring and just went in with the mindset i didn’t care whether i did or didnt, and just took my time

AND I PASSED ! :smiling_imp:

Im sure you will get a good go, just don’t lose faith.

keep at it, at one point i felt just as you do. took me 3 goes.

attempt 1, just wasn’t ready, was hesitant and too slow to pull away. 3 serious one for hitting a kerb.

attempt 2 i had a brain ■■■■ and didnt keep tight to a roundabout for the 3rd exit. (i thought i’d just cut up a arctic, i hadn’t, there was loads of room). examiner had to tell me to tighten up. no other faults.

attempt 3 i was fine right up to the right turn back into the road for the test center. i got a bollocking from my instructor a couple of hours earlier for taking the turn too close to another car so i didn’t go till i was absolutely sure, nearly got a serious for undue hesitation, he said if i’d left it another 10 secs i would have. but i passed, so so will you. if i can do it anyone can.

Thanks for the support guys.

Really, I don’t know if or how I’m going to continue. I’ve got some time left to decide but right now I’m seriously not sure about throwing in another £500 odd on a repeat performance of last thursday. I’ll figure it out, eventually.
