Well here goes...........

After deciding to go for it and take the plunge in to LGV world, I first of all fell for some of the flashy advertising on the web.
After sending off for information from every “Big” training provider I could find, I decided on one that looked to have the “Advantage”. :unamused:

Made the call, had a chat about what was involved and asked all the usual questions, the salesman was polite and fairly knowledgable but he was a salesman and wanted to add on various bits.

I started to get a bit edgy, thinking this was a bit hard sell for a driving test, so told him I wanted to think about it some more and do some more research.

I got 4 calls a day from him to see if I wanted to proceed, for 3 days.

I thought “Hang on a minute” I’m in sales now and I consider muself to be a bit of a go getter but this is bordering on him being a stalker.

Thought I would do some more research on the internet and “HALLELUJHA” I came across this site.
All the guys/gals on this site with all the genuine tips and advice have probably saved me from wasting my time and money, for that I thank you all.

Anyway, current climate taken in to account, I am still going to go for it but I am talking directly to 2 local driving centres, doing the assessment drive and approaching it in a completely different way.

Just thought I would post this to say thank you for the insight and when i finally get in a cab I will let you know how things progress.

CHEERS

By the way I am the son of a lifelong trucker and was brought up in a cab from old ERF’s through DAF, Iveco, Scammel, and loads of others I can’t remember.

**:D   Welcome kitkat trucker   ** [__GENERAL DRIVING TIPS *BEFORE* STARTING LGV C TRAINING (Link)__](http://trucknetuk.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=31611&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=)

If you click the link in my signature or this (Forum sponser logo) it will lead you to an index where you can access a lot more info which may be of use to you

To book any LGV training I suggest the trainee-to-be, visits the training school, meets the head person(s) and has a quick look at the truck BEFORE parting with any money.

OH GOOD - you’re doing that

Using the site Search facility and putting the words TRAINING AND WHERE you wish to train may turn up some recommendations.

OH GOOD - you’ve done that too
