Well done stobart driver corley service

jase:
when you can hear it running and there is plenty of room to park elsewhere".

Problem i find is that as you pull in with your own engine running you don’t hear it. Then when you switch off, maybe the fridge has cut out for a while. Then it kicks in again, by which time it’s too late to move again :imp:

You’d hear mine driverone asi leave it on continuously, can’t slep when its on stop/start cycle as i have a habit of waking in the night and not hearing it running and then getting out in my skiddies to find its stoped as its at tempreture.

Funny that ,It never happens the other way round does it?
I have never been parked up,in the middle of nowhere,in a truckstop or wherever with loads of spaces either way and not once has a fridge, sorry ,temperature controlled vehicle parked next to me !!
:unamused:

SO how come you go into a truckstop, and you have parked up for the night and pulled the tacho.

Maybe your inside getting a shower or whatever having a cheeky pint, then come out to a ■■■■■■■ fridge next to you, when it has signs saying fridges park at a certain end in the truckpark, and they must be switched off from 10pm to 7am.

How many fridges drivers ignore all that?

If you cant abide by the rules in a truckstop and have no respect for other drivers then you lot are tossers.

Fair play about leaving them running all night doesnt bother me at all, like some said they cant turn them off due to the temperature and due to customer requirements.

But please park them were you should park them in a truckstop, and not next to an innocent trucker wanting to get a good nights sleep.

Then it would be much better if the sign said “No loaded fridge trailers” as the only reason you’re going to have the fridge running between these times is if you are loaded.

And if they do expect all fridges to be switched off at night are they willing to be liable for loss of goods?

Am I missing something here  Where in the original post does it mention fridges  and why do some people have to resort to calling each other tossers and the such like…aren’t we all supposed to be on the same side
When some behave like neanderthals is it any wonder why we get treated like second class citizens :unamused: . FFS fellas, get a grip.

i should have thought that the exhorbitant parking fees charged at these msa’s that they could provide mains electric ‘plug-ins’, and so, ensure a relatively quiet night for all

There are fridge and tanker plug in points at the BP Garage on the A5 at Chirk, the trouble is other antisocial drivers have reversed into them and smashed the sockets to smithereens :imp:

Couple of times I’ve had to park up overnight And have to keep the fridge running all night. Seafood. Has to be kept below minus 18c otherwise it will start growing things.
Once at Knutsford, and I asked the parking guy if there was somewhere a little less anti social to park, and he allowed me to park in the car park.
Other time was at South Mimms, I parked the wrong way round, so the noise was at the other end of the trailer to other parked vehicles.
It is possible to be more respectful to others, even with a reefer.

As for parking on the pumps, yes, I will park on the pumps to get a coffee, but thats it, I then move off.
Those who park on the pumps for their 45 are downright antisocial, and I’m surprised the forecourt staff don’t move them on as they could easily be losing fuel revenue.
