Well Boss

Knowing who his transport manager is i wouldnt fancy that conversation

No need for straps or chains, just drive to the load…

He’s climbing in to knock it onto POA, can’t have his working time build up, there’s always the chance he’s got a job on Tuesday

all he needs to do is drive forward until they counter balance back on the truck, have another go at securing them and off you go.

Surprised he only used straps on that, lucky for who ever made him brake so hard that it didn’t land on them.

The ones I’ve seen have a specialised holder above the base for the long bars although no idea how they fasten. This one doesn’t seem to be properly equipped.

These are likely to vibrate and settle, so even if they have chained / strapped it would need tightening. Anyone using 4 straps (no protectors) instead of chains or lots of straps on that lot likely isn’t bothering with little things like checking straps or chains.

Might be time for tea and biscuits for both driver and TM to discuss suitability of equipment and load security. Oh and not trying to kill innocent people!

Isnt that a bit of an assumption? Maybe he wasnt paying attention and braked hard because of that? He could have had someone carve him up, but so what?

correctly says, out on the road stuff happens.

Well boss, the Sh**ty DAF AEBS came on after picking up a blade of grass in the way a mile down the road. And cos you went for your multi million pound house, instead of chains and chain chokers, the straps broke!

Sorry Didn’t know I had to point out every scenario, still lucky it didn’t land on somebody, something or it could have killed a kitten or even crushed the he/she/ gender neutral driver.

Its a British Steel truck, they have chains permanently fitted to the rigids and trailers but there drivers seem to prefer straps and management seem quite happy to allow it

Send for Nina…you should hear her on the subject of inadequately-restrained steel
