If you get off at junction 2, the right hand lane of the slip road is closed off at the other end(despite the signs saying to way traffic) and is used by HGVs for parking. Your stable mates for the night will be exclusively EE, and you are 15 minutes brisk walk from anything like a shop or a pub.

That late all the good spots by Tesco Hatfield at Junction 4 are all taken sadly.

Can’t think of anywhere else off the cuff but I’ll get me cap on…

There are signs for a lorry park in hemel Hempstead on the M1 but I haven’t been there. The industrial estate has double yellows all round it.

There are a couple of lay bys at junction 6 on A1M too, on the approach roads, might be worth a gander.

Mead lane in Hertford (behind tesco and Hertford east station). 5 min walk into town and 20 mins from Welham in the morning

Hemel Lorry park is (or was) Furnells yard on Maxted Rd, nearly always locked whenever I go past so not sure how you’re supposed to park there.

Rookery cafe. Its vitally empty not sure if that’s a bad sign :open_mouth:

Seems ok. Place is all shut up just using the car park area.

Forgot all about that one! Be aware there is travellers site 5 minutes down the road :open_mouth:
