Welfare and Security [Merged]

Really appreciate the input guys. Ive been relieved of diesel three times inside 5 months while overnighting in this area, curtain slashed once (nothing stolen) it must have happened to more than just me…somehow the blame has been unofficially directed at me. And I KNOW I aint alone. That is why I hope to push for somewhere secure!!! With input from yourselves we can make this happen…

Reckon the first time would stop me from parking there, second time a bit daft to say the least…but you went back for a third time?? :open_mouth:

The govt, local authorities and councils in any area of UK are fully aware of lack of overnight parking facilities and truck crime, the thing is they don’t give a ■■■■ so they turn a blind eye…, and as long as drivers are willing to make do with ■■■■ hole lay bys, the problem will go on :bulb:

. That is one of the reasons I never park in lay bys, if I did I would feel like ‘‘they’’ had won.
Expensive state of the art truckstops aint necessary either, just a bit of designated ground on the edge of ind ests with toilets and rubbish bins, preferably on edge of town.

Its not the companies welfare I`m interested in. Its OURS the driver,Is this a suggestion that no-one goes to Liverpool■■? If YOU can pick your daily routings I wanna work for your outfit !!! Get real,or quiet… or am I missing the sarcasm?

No, you’re not missing the sarcasm. Equally, I am not missing that you have asked people for their views and, when you hear something in return that you don’t like, you take offence. Your problem, that.

As for ‘picking my daily routings’… 'fraid not, I got out of the living hell which is haulage some time ago.

Apologies Olag, wires crossed somewhere, my comment was meant tongue in cheek  Anyways, I got in touch with a Dave McRae after posting a comment on there survey, dkmcrae.com seems these people are carrying out a survey to see if there is a need for a HGV service area on Dunningsbridge Road, he mentioned Atlantic Park or old Peerless refinery site, I do this run three times a week so either site would be brill, leave your own comment on his web site. Finally…relieved of fuel Knowsley ind est, Dock Road an 3rd time lay by A580 East Lancs Rd… living the dream eh

Santa:
I remember The Pool when you could spend a day and a half queuing in the road outside. The only facility was a greasy spoon, while the dockers had a proper canteen.

So do I, but no reason for it to not have improved.

Can I ask you for your opinions with regard to the fact that there are NO proper welfare or secure parking facilities at the end of M57 & M58 heading to or from the docks at the North end of Liverpool. Given the expansion of the docks to allow the super container ships in, the need for a large secure facility is even more important. Let me have your views.

Its nice to get it of your chest with what you think, but its never going to happen, someday.

Well robroy, gimme a bit of credit…I had four incidents in five months each at different locations, read earlier post. ?
