Do not keep your tachocard together with credit cards as it causes card not to be read by VU

Doesn’t matter, the card will either work or it won’t pretty much regardless of what you do. For the last 5 years or so my card, when not in use, has been kept in my wallet next to bank cards and my work ID card which gets scanned by the entry gate at work. When I am at home my mobile sits on top of my wallet and never had a problem with any of the digi cards I have had in that time.

We had a memo telling us not to keep digi cards and bank cards together

Yeah, companies are good at sending out memos or sticking notices on boards without checking if the details are correct or not.  This and the ‘You mustn’t leave your card in overnight or VOSA will fine you £■■■’ are just a couple of examples.

I got a memo with my digi card when the card first arrived from DVLA saying not to put it with my credit cards.
If that really is a problem then the card needs redesigning because that seems like a fault to me. :bulb:

I never even thought of this, until I just looked, 2 mobile phones, my wallet, and DECT home phone on top of computer speaker. There will be hell to pay if I cannot get any money with my cashpoint card when I venture off to the pub in an hour or so!

It’ll be even worse if you put your cash card into the ATM and it gives you 6 infringements a £1000 fine and bans you from driving!

When I first had my digi-card I kept it in my wallet with my other cards. Three cards failed within days of being received so I kept the last card in a separate wallet with no other cards. That one has worked perfectly ever since. Coincidence? Maybe, but I won’t keep it my wallet again.

Its the machines, plotting a revoloution! Couple of years ago was bimbling along the M25…when it was actually moving :open_mouth: - Then the binging sound went off for the tacho. On a flat bit so no overspeed to which i then hear the tacho eject motor going and spat my card at at 90k’s

Pushed it back in, loaded up and went back onto drive mode. Quiried it with the yard who didn’t have a clue, so did print out and noted what had happened on the back, only happened that once…

Then last month booking off the unit froze in the new truck, tried everything turning ignition off and on, waiting 10-15 mins, pressing holding buttons etc… crappy Stoneridge thingy. Even ended up ringing Scania for help to which i got through to a mechanic and the ■■■■ thing starts working again. Just like going to the doctors :unamused: -
