Weekly rest...

Hi.
Can somebody enlighten me.
My normal hours of work are 7am - 3/5pm Monday to Friday
And I work every other Saturday. 7am - 12/1pm
My boss asked me yesterday if I can start working every Saturday.

Is this legal?

I understood that from the end of your 6th day of work you need 45 hours weekly rest
It can be reduced but compensated for before the end of the 3rd week.
Meaning that working every other Saturday was working perfect. Getting the a whole sat off giving 45+ hours weekly rest Before Monday. And before the end of the 3rd week.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

NO

You could work this pattern so you get a 45 every other week
sat 7am to 1pm
sat 7am to 10am
sat 7am to 1pm
sat 7am to 10am

An alternative is to work every sat 7am to 1pm but then start every other Monday at 10am

PS - your payback of 3 hours from a reduced weekly rest of 42 hours is sorted on the first daily rest you have but in case you were thinking that paying it back makes it into a regular daily rest … it does not

Thank you very much.
That what I thought. It would be pointless working the second Saturday.
Thanks!!

That is not the correct understanding
You could do 6 days then take a reduced weekly rest

A weekly rest must be ‘assigned to’ or ‘used’ for every fixed week
A fixed week is sunday midnight to sunday midnight
For a weekly rest to be assigned to or used for a fixed week it must be at least 1 minute in that fixed week
A weekly rest can only be used once
At least every other fixed week must have a regular weekly rest

Assuming you work to EU regulations and not domestic regulations you could not legally do that, you need to have a rest period of at-least 45 consecutive hours at-least every second week.
