Never in ten years have I had to work a Saturday so never had a problem with weekly rest period, always parked up by 4pm Friday and don’t start until 3am Monday, so never bothered to take to much notice of the rules regarding this.
However las Saturday I had to go in. I finished at 3pm on Friday then went back in for 8.15 Saturday until 11.30, as I had to start at 3am Monday I did not get a full 45 hours rest in, only got 39.30 (?)
So am I right in thinking I have to “pay back” 5.30 hours?
If I finish by 4pm tomorrow and don’t start until 3am Monday 59 hours can I assume I have covered myself?

I put my card in at 0300hrs and I finish my duty at 1500hrs then have 15 hours off would my daily rest be the first 11 hours and the remaining 4 hours count towards my weekly rest

Weekly rest must be at least 24 hours off in one go so 15 hours off will not do
If you did 12 hours on shift then had 24 off, the first 11 would count as daily rest as well as the first 11 of the weekly rest
