So if you’re doing 24, 55, 24, 55, 24, 55, how is that legal?
That’s the point, it’s not because the compensation won’t be paid back.
I’m assuming the original poster didn’t mean he was actually taking an exact 24 hour rest period, simply that he was taking a reduced rest which is known in the vernacular as “taking a 24”. I will be “taking a 24” this weekend but the reality is that I will be doing an 0600-1400 shift on Saturday then starting again at 0600 Monday which means I will only have five hours to compensate for.
