Yes - I should know the answer and I think I do, but just to be sure -
If I reduce my weekly rest from 45 hours to say 35 hours to I have to pay back 10 hours in one unbroken weekly rest of 55 hours? I’m sure this is correct but as it may be a close thing when I do it I want to be 100% certain.

the 10 hours can be attatched to ANY rest period - even a 9 hour reduced daily rest

The compensation has to be paid back in one block by adding it onto any rest period of at-least 9 hours.
It should be paid back by the end of the third week following the week in which the reduced weekly rest period was taken.

I’m convinced some people think that it can only be attached to a weekly rest.
That is a common misconception for some and I think it comes from the fact that weekly rests are being referrered to so many assume that everything must be related to weekly and not rests in general
Thanks guys! I knew it could be attached any rest but in my case it will be a weekly rest - no chance of a fitting it in a daily. Just wasn’t sure if it could be taken as say 2x5 hours; didn’t think so but better to be sure!

Yup, but in my dumb defence I’ve been gratefully satisfied to just work my rostered 48 hr shift and luckily without need to grab overtime - what with all the calc’s needed to satisfy the Eurocrats and avoid those dratted infringements. I’m thankful that I’m not overly reliant on admin/tolerance to connive that far for a living.
So I’m hereby happy to post a thumbs-down for the DCPC - through which I’ve not learnt this nugget
Just like when I learnt - the hard way - that analogue charts are systematically digitised at my place so that they now speak to each other for analysis purposes: Quattre pointe pour moi
