Weekly Hours

Hello,

This might seem a bit of a redundant question but I have to ask anyway.

I’ve been looking at LGV jobs and keep coming across adverts saying things like 47 hours per week and upwards (permanent positions).

I know you can work average of 45 hours per week and up to a maximum of 56 hours per week but has to average out at 90 hours per week.

So how can they say your hourly week working will be 47■■

Do they mean total work (i.e. 45 hours driving per week and 2 hours other work)?

Thanks :grimacing:

You might be getting driving time mixed up with working time.
Driving time, max 90 hours in a fortnight.
Working time has to average 48 hours a week over a certain reference period. Actual working time you could do in any one week is limited to 60 hours

As Mike-C has said it looks like you’re confusing the hours.

Driving hours (Tachograph rules):
Maximum 56 hours driving in any week.
Maximum 90 hours driving in any two consecutive weeks.

Working time (WTD for mobile workers):
Maximum 60 hours working time in any week.
Working time should average no more than 48 hours over the reference period (the reference period is usually 17 weeks but can be longer).

There is more to it than this but hopefully this will help you to understand

Hi Mike-C and tachograph

Sorry for not responding sooner - thanks for your help.

I see what you mean now so thanks for that, just wanted to make sure
