WBIS, that Continental Express ‘communist’ in flip flops @ Sunbilla was probably Ben the Rat, his description down to a T!, but he’s definately from this side of the Iron Curtain!

I’m parked up south of Alicante this weekend (Cabo Roig) but there isn’t much space for other trucks.

its very rare we go past zaragoza. if we are coming up the new motorway past teruel we go via carinena, almunia de dona godina and magallon.
last time i went past though it looked well worn but not sure if its still open.
the bp truckstop at bailen is a dive just used for bus changeovers from madrid better to use the andamur just down the road. maybe the zaragoza one suffers the same as there are many good cheap hotels and bars in the vicinity
never stopped in carisio is it a decent truckstop?
Carisio is ok, there isn’t anything better in the area, it can be a bit expensive if you dont have the menu of the Day.
I use the same route as you from Teruel, I thought the BP at Bailen was shut down, I also use the Andamur very good food and the staff are friendly.

the BP at bailen is just one of those godawful autogrills with expensive sandwiches and toasties and is only frequented by the buses.
the andamur is probably one of the best truckstops in spain, never paid more than 9 euros including carajillo after
the only bad thing is that lame excuse for a truckwash but if you want a good one km 280 ALDEA DE LOS RIOS just up the road open 24hrs from mon morning to sat afternoon. the restaurant is good and cheap next door and they have a shop that sells everything for trucks
